Union Free America

Nurses and Other Healthcare Providers

There is no doubt that union organizers have targeted the healthcare industry. The reasons are obvious.  Employment in healthcare is growing and the unions are desperate to find some way to reverse their sagging fortunes.

In addition, because much of healthcare is publicly funded unions hope to use their political clout to neutralize the opposition. There are already laws in several states imposing so-called "neutrality agreements" on healthcare providers that contract with the state.

Many healthcare providers are fighting to stay Union Free. There are a growing number of web sites dedicated to this purpose.  Here are links to some of them. If you know of others, please tell us about them so that we can add them. Please also tell us if any of these links are busted so that we can correct or remove them.

Stop Unions

There are many union related issues in healthcare that aren't quite the same in other types of employment.

Strikes against hospitals are a particularly heartless and vicious type of healthcare union activity. It takes special commitment and courage to work during a strike so that patients can continue to receive the care they need. There is an organization that helps mobilize nurses to work during hospital strikes. If you are interested in more information on this visit http://www.scab.org

Please help us do a better job of presenting information about these issues by giving us your feedback through the contact page.
